We are a learned society, incorporated under Royal Charter, whose objectives are to advance the art, science and practice of navigation.
PANEL: ADVANCING PNT AND SECURE COMMUNICATIONS – OVERCOMING CHALLENGES AND MEETING FUTURE NEEDS
This panel session will explore how the defence sector is enhancing Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) by developing alternatives to GPS, such as inertial sensors, celestial navigation, and low Earth orbit satellites. These technologies aim to ensure
PANEL: BEYOND THE SIGNAL: SPACE SITUATIONAL AWARENESS, CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE, AND THE RISK OF COORDINATION FAILURE ACROSS THE DATA TO DECISION-MAKING SUPPLY CHAIN
This panel will explore the cascading risks posed by space weather and debris to our critical infrastructure in the New Space Economy. Using Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems as a key example. While PNT vulnerabilities highlight the immediate
