Dr Aqeel Shamsul is the CEO and co-founder of Frontier Space, a UK Space Biotech startup that is industrialising space biotechnology to develop and manufacture new therapeutics and medicine in orbit. Aqeel completed his PhD at Cranfield University in 2022 in developing a miniaturised bio laboratory for space application, which he led and flew its first technology demonstration mission in the stratosphere. He spun out the technology from Cranfield University with a few alumni and commercialised it to perform high-throughput drug discovery and biomanufacturing in orbit. Since its incorporation, Frontier Space has won over GBP 1.3 million in grants and technology development contracts. Frontier Space has participated in UKSA LEO, GEO, and Fusion accelerator, alongside the prestigious Seraphim Space Accelerator, Mandala Space Ventures and European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre. He was named 2019 Emerging Space Leader by the International Astronautical Federation.

Jenna Rhodes-Tiwana is Senior Strategy Advisor at ispace inc., a lunar exploration company that was the first commercial company to launch to the Moon, and recently launched Europe’s first lunar rover. Prior to ispace, Jenna was a Management Consultant at Bain & Company working in Private Equity and Strategy, across the London and Tokyo offices. She has two Masters degrees – Aeronautics & Astronautics from the University of Southampton and Space Studies from the International Space University. Jenna is also a member of the SPACETIDE Foundation where she works to bridge the British and Japanese space sectors. 

Jacob Greer is Orbit Fab’s Managing Director in the UK and Europe, having joined in March 2024. He leads a team building a bustling orbital economy by allowing spacecraft to be refuelled. He is also a current trustee of the UK SEDS charity and is passionate about supporting young people from across the UK into the space sector. 

Sam is co-CEO of Space Solar, creating an era defining new solar energy source from spaceFollowing a PhD working on a NASA Mars mission, Sam held senior space sector strategy roles in Finmeccanica (now Leonardo), was Lead Technologist for Space at the UK’s Innovation Agency and was Chief Strategy Officer at the Satellite Applications Catapult.  He is a Non-Executive Director of the Satellite Finance Network, Co-founder of the UKSpace IOSM working group and Spatial Finance Initiative and co-chair of the Space Energy Initiative.   

Simon Mills began his career by working as a field botanist on Cloud and Elfin rainforest in Northern Costa Rica. His subsequent career encompassed minerals and highways planning, environmental management systems and sustainable development. In 2000 he became environmental co-ordinator for the City of London, where he established the National Sustainable City Awards and worked on carbon trading, socially responsible investment and climate risk. Since joining as a Z/Yen Associate, Simon has worked on mutual distributed ledgers, standards, sustainable business, and policy performance bonds.
