Paulo joined the Portuguese Space Agency in 2021, performing project management functions in the area of space transportation and access to space, being involved in the monitoring and analysis of opportunities in the national and international space sector, monitoring activity licensing and financing processes and strategic definition in space access projects, such as launchers, propulsion systems and stratospheric platforms.

The global space economy is projected to grow from about $500 billion today to more than $1.8 trillion within the next 10 years. Communications, navigation, and earth observation are among the most important applications today, and they will continue to grow.
